Healthy living is not an obsession for me–at least, I don’t think it is, but I believe it’s an absolute must to being fit for any and every good work. All this dieting craze has amounted to nothing more than fads that result in unhealthy living. So I’m comforted, when I see articles like this one. These are ways to lose weight without dieting:

  1. Eat breakfast every day. Otherwise, end up eating more during the day.
  2. Close the kitchen at night. Unnecessary food intake.
  3. Choose liquid calories wisely. Solid foods reduce hunger, not empty calories. Drink water, sparkling water with citrus, skim or low-fat milk, or small portions of 100% fruit juice.
  4. Eat more produce. Eat low-calorie, high-volume fruits and vegetables crowds out other unhealthy foods.
  5. Go for the grain. Choose whole-wheat and whole grain over refined grains like white bread, cakes, cakes, cookies, and pretzels.
  6. Control your environments. Stock up on the right kinds of foods.
  7. Trim portions. Most of the portions served in restaurants and at home are too big.
  8. Add more steps. Walk.
  9. Have protein at every meal and snack. It helps to feel full longer.
  10. Switch to lighter alternatives. Choose low-fat versions. Find smart substitutions.
